SINGAPORE: Products under the NTUC umbrella will see discounts for the rest of the year, starting Wednesday (Jul 8), in an initiative to “make essential products more affordable”, announced NTUC.
Consumers will get 10 per cent off more than 1,000 daily essentials under main NTUC FairPrice housebrands – from the FairPrice, FairPrice Gold, Pasar and Pasar Organic range – until the end of December.
Insurance plans under NTUC Income, health products from NTUC Health and cooked food from NTUC Foodfare will also see savings for the next six months.
The initiative, named the “Big Value Bag: Made for Singapore” and worth S$35 million, will run until the end of December. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, NTUC Secretary-General Chan Chun Sing said NTUC will always ensure that every Singaporean can afford the basic essentials.
“NTUC social enterprises understand that cost of living is one of the major concerns among Singaporeans,” he said. “This package of deals and discounts will make essential products more affordable for our fellow Singaporeans, and enable them to make every cent count.”
