Two Union Grove High School teachers got footloose on national television Thursday morning.
At 9 a.m. the day before school, administrators first got the call that Good Morning America was interested in featuring the two teachers live on the show after seeing their back-to-school music video.
By 6 p.m. that night head football coach and teacher Jordan Hein and high school science teacher Mitchell Brachmann were heading to New York City to get footloose.
Thursday morning the pair made their national dancing debut on Good Morning America along with the some of the cast from Dancing With the Stars in three minute segment.
The two teachers, both 28, for the last three years have been making a music video to get kids excited about going back to school.
This year they choreographed their video to the song Footloose and it featured them and about 40 students.
After their video was viewed over 100,000 times in one week, the duo started getting enough national attention that GMA contacted them.
“It’s been a whirlwind over the last 24 hours,” said Hein, who played football at UW-Madison and is going into his fifth year at Union Grove High School.
After flying to New York Wednesday night, the two, who both took one of their two personal days, arrived at the Good Morning America studio at about 6 a.m. eastern time Thursday morning.
